I have just returned from Capital Grille in Chestnut Hill MA. for lunch. Of all the years going there I have never experienced such distasteful food! The salad had turned brown at the edges, the mushrooms had no taste and the creamed spinach was awful. After spending $148.00 including the tip, I won't be back!!
Capital Grille is a very good restaurant. Am sorry to say, it has relaxed its standards......no more black or white napkins depending on what you are wearing, tuna is excellent, but lacking the 3 sauces from the past for choice and about 2/3 of the portion, and service has detiorated unfortunately. Visited Chestnut Hill tonight, service was adequate, server did not refill wine or check on entrees, did check on appetizers. Sorry to see CG decline, and would have to think twice now about a business or personal meal.......hopefully CG will consider its history and how it was able to provide an exemplary experien...
Capital Grill was a real disappointment for my fiancee's Birthday dinner last night. We each started off with a crock of French Onion soup that was not as hot as it should be but was delicious. However, the bread basket selection was really bizarre. It had a couple of rolls that were really sweet and a giant, I mean 10"s across seeded matzo kind of cracker. None of which really went with the soup or the very plain butter served. My fiancee had a chicken mushroom risotto she said was excellent. I ordered the "Sushi Grade Tuna" and said I'd go with the chef's recommendation on its level of grilling. It was cooked t...
Food is always excellent. No exceptions here. Awesome. The service was fantastic. Our table was busy many times by our wait staff but also by the manager checking in our experience. Thank you!
This place is pricey but exceptional food of high caliber. The service is amazing! The staff and vibe is welcoming . I have loved my experiences here .
We sat at the bar and had the cone crusted filet mignon. It was cooked perfect. The bread they served is the best from any restaurant in Boston. Our server was Valter L. and he could not have been any better. The cocktails were great and he always made sure our water glasses were filled. We cannot wait to go back and have him take care of us.
We are a group of friends that dine together once a month, with the choice of restaurant rotating among the eight or eleven of us. This was the first time our group had gone this upscale, where most of the a la carte entrees hover around $60. Think we'd all agree, that last night was was worth it. I usually don't order steak out, mostly because of the price at places like this, but in fact the $58 for the sliced filet mignon with cipollini onions, field mushrooms and fig essence looked too good to resist, and it was superb. There were eight of us and our single server, Jill C, could not have been more efficient o...
The absolute lack of hospitality in especially upscale chain restaurants is baffling to me! We’ve been the night before at Gracie’s in Providence, RI and it has been a highlight in a long time. Everything from how we were greeted, to the service personnel to the food was amazing. The Capital Grill was the polar opposite on everything (except the Valet guy who was GREAT!). The rest lacked love for details from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. There only focus was on extorting money from guests who don’t know better. This might sound mean or snobbish but we have experienced a broad spectrum of restauran...
Seems charming upon entering, but needs to pick up the service and the attention to the details. Look, any Capital Grill is almost always an enjoyable and good meal/restaurant. But some locations are better than others, and this particular one needs some improvements. The waiter repeatedly could not pour the San Pelligrino without wetting the tablecloth. They tried to pass off a NY strip for a rib eye, and no one that knows steak would confuse them. And the service was not crisp, the kind you expect and usually receive at the Capital Grill. On top of that, there was an error on the bill. I will dine at a differe...
This is a fine steakhouse located off a busy street. We were a large group, and had a nice small room to ourselves. The food is excellent-my filet was quite good, and so too were the side dishes. Service was good too.
